Glitched Embraces

Touch is not always smooth - it can skip, stutter, and repeat. In the series Glitched Embraces embroidered seams interrupt themselves, different techniques come up against each other, and the materials, selected from deadstock and found fabrics, hold traces of earlier lives. The work asks what happens when tenderness misfires, and finds that the fault lines are perhaps the place where memories show themselves.
Variation of embroidery techniques with needle and hook on a base of 100% silk organza. Materials: silk, cotton, polyester, glass beads, crystal beads, gold & silver threads, sequins, vintage plastic beads, vintage metal recycled ribbon.
